Have you read yesterday's post? If not, please do. We're going to give ourselves a few days to pray about that first button before we start posting on it as a team. So this post will remain up through the weekend to give us all some time to reflect and pray.
Let's pause and remind ourselves of God's power to change us!
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen" (Ephesians 3:20-21).
"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).
"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence" (2 Peter 1:3).
What hope! We can change by His power and grace at work in our hearts. We're not making "resolutions" this year. We're declaring that our God is at work in us and that He will help us as we trust and lean on Him for change!
Thank You, Lord, for giving me your Holy Spirit to convict of sin and to give me power to change. Speak to me. Show me what one thing I should focus on for this next season in my life. Forgive me for the unbelief that tempts my heart to lack faith for change. You are at work in me because You promised you would complete the work You began at my conversion. Forgive me for the self-sufficiency and pride that lures me into complacency and unrighteous contentment with where I've been. I want to change. That alone is evidence of Your grace at work in me! Help me this year to trust and rely on you more. I need You! Amen.
